ZAK: then and now

Transformed.


2 months ago Zak came into our lives, starved of food and love because of his disability.



The day that Zak arrived at Ekisa he was a mere shell of himself. A skeleton draped in skin. He weighed less than 30 pounds at ten years old. He had no sense of what it means to be cared for, let alone loved. His emotion was limited and it was over a week before we heard him cry. He flinched if we told him we love him and told us that he “did not want” our kisses. We gave him toys that he simply handed back to us because he was unsure of what to do with them. After just a couple weeks of food and love, Zak began to transform into a whole new boy, so full of joy. He smiles and laughs, dances and plays. He now asks for our kisses and giggles when we play with him. God has transformed his body, spirit and soul.



I am completely blown away by Zak, and LOVE getting to see him and his sweet personality blossom! In many ways Zak is learning how to be a child again. He is developing QUITE the personality, and a great sense of humor! Zak LOVES to laugh and make others laugh too! He is quick to make up games involving kisses, laughs, and tickles which can keep both of us laughing for hours!

Zak is learning to love, and let others love him. Words cannot describe the joy in my heart when he responds back to me “I love you”.

I could go on and on about Zak, and how he is a completely different child. BUT I am going to let the pictures do the rest of the talking.










So thankful for a God who heals and restores!!!!
